Join us as a speaker in 2023

About the event

STL Startup Week is just around the corner! It begins on September 18 and runs through September 22, 2023. We are excited to offer a diverse array of presentations to attendees with several speakers lined up each day of the week. We are currently seeking applications to fill 19 different sessions, each one-hour long, that can be delivered in a variety of formats including presentations, demos, panels, or workshops. All sessions will be presented live during Startup Week from one of our official venues.

• Applications open May 16, 2023
• Applications can be submitted through June 30, 2023
• Speaker selections will be made by July 14, 2023

Content guidelines

Applications will be reviewed by the STL Startup Week Organizing Committee. Less is more but remember that this is your opportunity to shine.

Submission components:

Presentation Title: Make it memorable!

Presentation Format: Presentation/Workshop/Panel/Demo

If you are proposing a panel session, what would be the makeup of that panel? Are there specific people you would target to participate? And if not, what are the criteria by which you would select them? E.g. industry, specific expertise, experience, organization, etc.

Presentation Description: Provide us with a concise description of the program, as if it were ready to be advertised tomorrow. Why should individuals come to your session and what will they get out of it?

Audience: Who are you trying to reach? Is this information broadly applicable or for a specific target audience?

Knowledge/Skills Gained: What skills or knowledge will attendees gain from your session.  

Presentation History: Has this presentation been delivered before? If so, was it in-person or live?

Presenter Qualifications: Tell us about yourself! What makes you the ideal individual to present this information?

Video: All applications will require a 60-second video introducing yourself, your topic, and why you should be selected as a speaker. Videos will also give us an insight into your presentation style!

Submission "Do's":

• Submit engaging presentations! We are looking for interesting topics that provide an opportunity for audience participation.
• Have clear learning objectives!
• Highlight your experience and expertise in the relevant field.
• Be conscious of the diversity in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Submission "Don'ts":

• No sales pitches or self-promotion.
• Don’t submit an incomplete application.
• Don’t exaggerate or over promise on the impact of your presentation.
• Don’t worry about logistics – we will help with that!
