Get Ready: 10 Tips to Maximize Your STL Startup Week Experience

STL Startup Week (Nov. 10–14) is right around the corner, and whether you’re a founder, creative, student, or community builder, there’s no better time to plug into St. Louis’s entrepreneurial community.

With five packed days of panels, meetups, workshops, and networking events, it’s easy to feel like there’s a lot to take in. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Here are ten simple ways to make the most of your STL Startup Week experience, from planning your schedule to finding the best spots to connect, refuel, and get inspired.

1. Download the Whova app

Build your agenda, connect with other attendees, and stay up to date on any schedule changes. Download Whova on your phone or access it on your desktop to easily navigate the week.

2. Customize your schedule

With dozens of sessions happening across multiple venues, planning ahead is key. Browse the full schedule and save your must-attend events early, since some sessions fill quickly.

3. Join a Community Event

Beyond the main lineup, partners across the region are hosting happy hours, meetups, and workshops throughout the week. These gatherings are great for building real connections.

4. Engage on social

Use #STLStartupWeek to share your favorite moments and tag the people and organizations you meet. It’s an easy way to keep the conversation going and build your visibility in the community.

5. Stay hydrated

Bring a reusable water bottle and keep it handy throughout the day. Drinks will not be provided during daily sessions this year, so plan ahead and refill as you go between sessions. Water refill stations are available at most venues.

6. Meet someone new

STL Startup Week is all about connection. Say hello to the person next to you, introduce yourself to a speaker, or strike up a conversation with another attendee. This year’s name badges include a “Talk to me about…” section so you can share what you’re passionate about and find common ground with others.

7. Take notes and reflect

You’ll hear tons of insights and ideas throughout the week. Jot down key lessons or next steps after each day while they’re fresh in your mind.

8. Support local

STL Startup Week is all about celebrating the region’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit, and that extends to where you eat, shop, and hang out between sessions. Explore the local businesses near each venue and show some love to the restaurants, cafés, and shops that make our city thrive.

9. Bring your team

STL Startup Week is a great way to invest in your team’s growth and inspiration. Make a day of it by attending sessions together, comparing takeaways, and brainstorming new ideas. Culture & Commerce Day on Wednesday, Nov. 12, is the perfect opportunity — your team can learn side by side, explore team-building experiences in the district, and take advantage of the coworking space available that day.

10. Share the good vibes

STL Startup Week thrives on positive energy. If someone inspires you, let them know. Share your favorite quotes, tag a speaker or sponsor, or just tell someone you enjoyed their session. Small gestures like that help keep the momentum going long after the week ends.
